How are players evaluated and selected for travel teams? Players are evaluated using several criteria.  The three most key areas evaluation are technical ability, speed and character.

1. Technical:
1. Can a player handle the ball technically under pressure ?
          2. Can a player handle the ball technically in tight spaces?

     2. Speed:
  1. Pure Speed—Is the player fast from point A to B?
2.Technical Speed—Can the player handle the ball under pressure?
3.Tactical Speed—Can the player make fast decisions with and without the ball?

     3. Character:
1.Does the player like to compete?
2.Is he/she a positive influence on the group?

Our goal at TCSC is to provide all interested players with an opportunity to play on a team that is tailored to his or her level of development. We hope to field multiple teams at each age group and to place players on a team that is the best fit based on their current level of ability and interest. However, unfortunately there are times when more players attend tryouts then we are able to form teams for in a particular age group. In these circumstances we endeavor to find other opportunities for the player including contacting colleagues at other area programs and clubs who may have needs for additional players to form complete teams. Other options may include participating as a practice player with the goal of working towards a game roster spot as they become available.

TCSC is always looking for qualified coaches. Individuals interested in coaching  should should contact our Director of Coaching Joe Burton at  [email protected]  Help and training will be provided.
